Located in the capital of Italy's Puglia region, the Port of Bari is one of the most important ports in the region. It stands as a gateway between Italy and the Middle East and Balkan regions.
The port's facilities include a tourist information office, banking facilities and several shops situated inside the port itself.
The facility also houses a cruise terminal with a coffee shop among other eating and shopping establishments.
There are two separate harbours in the city of Bari. Near the old city, the Old Port is used for small vessels and fishing boats, while the New Port is reserved for large passenger ferries that make crossing to Greece and Albania. The New Port is modern and offers both short-term and long-term parking options.
Bari's old city district is rich in history. The labyrinth of streets and alleyways reveal architecture and cathedrals dating back 900 years. There's plenty to do in Bari; the new city hosts an exciting night life and the beaches, along with the wonderful climate, make it the ideal location for swimming and sunbathing.
Port of Bari Information: Ferry Services - Bari, Puglia, Italy
Ventouris Ferries Company runs service to Durres, Igoumenitsa, Cephalonia and Corfu, while Superfast Ferries plys the routes to Igoumenitsa, Patras and Corfu. In addition, Azzuraline sails to Kotor, Durres and Dubrovnik, while Minoan Lines serves Patras. Crossings to Corfu take 8 hours and are only available during the summer months. Services to Igoumenitsa take 9 hours, 30 minutes and also operate during the summer; this route also includes a connection to Corfu. Crossings to Patras take 15 hours, 30 minutes, stopping first atIgoumenitsa. Crossing time to Dubrovnik takes 7 hours, 30 minutes; crossings to Durres are accomplished in 8 hours, 30 minutes and a new service to Kotor takes 9 hours. All ferries are equipped to accommodate disabled passengers and special arrangements can be made with the ferry companies at the time of booking.
